Using the “UB Referral Code” to your Advantage
March 23, 2011
UltimateBet otherwise known as UB is currently one of the top ten online poker rooms available. The online poker room offers players the best of the best when it comes to software, promotions, game variety and tournament options. UB has a sweet first time depositor’s bonus which allows players to get up to $1,100 back in bonus cash.
To access this bonus players will need to sign up for a new account. After going through a short registration process players will then need to enter in the UB Referral Code to access the awesome bonus. The referral code is UBCASHNOW and players must enter it in at the Cashier during deposit to be able to earn the bonus.
Since the bonus is a 111% bonus players will be getting more money back then the usual first deposit bonus. An example of the sign up bonus would be if you deposit $400. When you deposit the $400 you would actually have $844 in your account. This is a great way for players to build their bankroll before they even start playing poker.
Once you have finished the process you will need to play tournaments and real money ring games at UB. Players will earn Status points while playing the games and that will determine the amount of bonus cleared as well as the level you are in for the RAI$E VIP program. The higher the level you are the quicker you will clear your bonus.
Now if you are already a member at UB never fear, they offer reload bonuses as well. So even though you cannot access the first deposit bonus you will still have access to great bonus offers. Reload bonuses at UB are offered at various times so existing players will need to check the promotions page at UB on a regular basis to catch these bonuses.
Avoiding Difficult Challenges with Your Bankroll Online
March 18, 2011
Online poker is enjoyed by millions of players on a regular basis. Some players are just beginners at the game while others are seasoned veterans. However all have the same goal to enjoy poker and make money. However making money is not that simple. There are many bankroll challenges that can stand in a player’s way when it comes to making money.
Players need to be aware of the many aspects that can get in their way when it comes to building their bankroll. There are decisions that players can make that aren’t necessarily the right ones. Understanding the aspects that can get in a players way will help gamblers make the right decisions.
Playing reckless and stupid are bad decisions that poker players can make. If you log on to their favorite poker room and hit the tables full force, going all in on each hand and not reading your fellow players that is a wreckless and stupid decision. Players should always try to get a read on their competition and play hands accordingly as well as take their time with their bets.
Another challenge is not using poker tracking software. This option can be used to keep track of your game play so you can understand and learn where you should make changes in your game play if any are needed. Many players do not think about using this type of software and therefore they do not fully understand how they are playing.
Another mistake players make is not taking advantage of online poker bonuses. Online bonuses and promotions are a great way for players to build their bankroll without having to do anything but make a deposit. Players simply log in and enter the appropriate code for the bonus and then they will receive a percentage of bonus cash from the online poker room. Most rooms offer 100% back so players who deposit $200 would get an additional $200 from the online poker room to gamble with.
So if players make sure they pay close attention to their decisions when playing online poker they will avoid the many challenges that exist for building a bankroll. Having the right information and knowledge, players can continue to build their bankroll and be able to enjoy the spoils of their online poker play.
Bad Results at Horse Poker
April 16, 2009
It’s been a shocking run since i last posted and honestly can’t believe the pure bad luck i’ve been getting, nothing and i mean NOTHING has gone right, almost every hand i’ve been out drawn on the river and in every Razz round it’s always me to bring in with K Q J or something along those lines. It’s very frustrating so I’m having a break from it.
In other bad news the WSOPE schedule has been released to us and it looks as if there isn’t even a Horse event this year so my little challenge was in vian anyway! Probably a good thing seeing as I would never have made it the way things have been going.
Not sure on my numbers but i’ve only cashed a couple of times out of maybe 8 tournaments and am not a happy chappy, Still i pulled a few hundred back the other night when i sat at the Limit Cash Tables on Stars playing $5/$10 for about 7 hours for a $600 profit which should have been more.
Poker sucks when you get bad beats and shitty cards like this, I might as well go back to playing 3 Card Brag and play something of pure luck rather than over thinking everything and getting no where
I’m not bothered really as long as the bad run doesn’t last as long as I have had in the past, 12 months was my longest dry spell and I almost gave up all together then, It’s pretty amazing how things can run so bad for so long.
Anyway that’s it for now, I will check my results and balance soon and see if i’m bust yet or not, I did play a $109 tournament the other night but wasn’t going to count it as part of the challenge as I wouldn’t have been able to afford it from my meagre balance, Maybe i should just give up?
Nah I’m not a quitter and never have been hence why I still smoke
Good luck all
Poker Stars Horse Tournaments Online
March 31, 2009
Well it’s deffinetely not going to plan this challenge i’ve set myself but suppose i still have loads of time, what a time to get a bad run of cards as soon as i started the challenge!!
Still pretty confident but will have to have a decent cash or two soon. Last might i played the $33 $4k gtd again on stars and finished 63rd very poor indeed, went bust on the stud round with AA in the hole 2 pair by 5th street only to get beaten by 777 when he hit the 7 on the end for a big pot.
I’m trying to decide if to play the $109 SCOOP horse event on poker stars this week as it’s a $250,000 gtd but if i do it as part of my own challenge it could see me almost out of it. But it could also see the challenge complete in one foul swoop!
I will have a think about that one.
Starting balance: $330
Tournaments Played: 8
Cashes: 3
Balance: $255.76
So far with 8 tournaments played i’m roughly $75 down which isn’t that bad really, only thing is i was expecing to be at least $50 up by now even with bad results. Still like i keep saying there is still time!
Thursday $4k gtd + another
March 29, 2009
Well i continued my personal challenge to get $330 to about $4000 for my wsope H.O.R.S.E seat and played my favorite $4k gtd on stars, top 24 paid and 144 players.
I managed to scrape a 23rd place finish after yet another session of awful beats and a couple of mistakes along the way, collected a massive $45.36. After that i entered a $11 $1000 gtd and really was NOT in the mood to play it just entered out of boredom, bust out somewhere early on as i knew i would!!
That was always a problem i’ve had, i enter tournaments and am not really interested in playing them at all. Must remember that to get to my target doing this is pretty stupid and has to stop!
Heres a quick run down so far.
Starting balance: $330
Tournaments Played: 7
Cashes: 3
Balance: $288.76
I’m expecting to hit some final tables soon as this shit luck can’t last that long in this game anyway, plus there is the Poker Stars Scoop in 2 weeks whre i’lk have to make sure i have the bankroll to at least enter the $109 game with a $250,000 gtd prize pool.
Cheers
Poker Stars $4k Gtd Horse Tournament
March 26, 2009
As my H.O.R.S.E challenge continues i entered the $4k gtd on stars last night for a buy in of $33, got off to my usual start and picked up chips nice and early. I was sat in 1st place for most of the tournament and felt no pressure at all, was enjoying it and playing well.
As we got down to about 100 players from 144 starters i was still sat in 1st with around 11k in chips, I then got 5 shocking beats in 7 hands and went on in 85th position and really annoyed, not with myself just in general!
So as it stands now here’s a horse challenge run down.
Starting balance: $330
Tournaments Played: 5
Cashes: 2
Balance: $287.40
Here’s the hand i went out on which to be honest is gutting and a big cooler, but hey shit happens right!

30k Guaranteed Horse Torunament
March 25, 2009
As part of my poker challenge going from $330 to around $4000 for a wsope entry, I qualified va the step on Poker stars for just $7.50 i got a seat worth $215 to the $30k gtd which was a great boost to achieving my goal if i could cash in it.
However it was a pretty shocking show and i finished a poor 154th from 198 players, no reason really except for some truly pathetic hands and a few shit beats, i can’t really complain as it cost little for me to play it but it’s a bit disheartening when i was looking forward to it, and to not enjoy it or even get to play properly was disappointing.
Only a couple of pro’s were in the game which were Chad Brown who won the World Championships of online Poker H.O.R.S.E event in 2006 plus cashes in the WSOP and many WSOP Circuit events. The other notable player was Ylon Schwartz a chess grand master and 4th place finisher in the 2008 WSOP main event plus 11 other wsop cashes.
Not much more to report on it as i didn’t hang around to watch as i was in a bit of a mood!
Starting balance: $330
Tournaments Played: 4
Cashes: 2
Balance: $320.40
Not too worry I’m playing my favorite $33 $4k gtd tonight so expect to cash in this one.
More Horse Tournaments
March 22, 2009
So session 2 of my own personal poker challenge to get to the WSOPE and i decided to play a $16.50 tournament on stars as there was nothing else that time of day. Failed to cash after a good steady start so $16.50 down for the session.
I did however decide to play some of the steps tournaments and wen’t from step 1 $7.50 buyin to step 4$215 buyin in no time all, i used the step 4 ticket to enter the $200+$15 tonight with a $30k gtd prize pool. This is one of the best onlin e H.O.R.S.E tournaments that’s held every month on Poker Stars.
As far as i can remeber i don ‘t think i’ve played it before due to the time it starts, about midnight in the UK.
Still it could be a great boost to the bakroll if manage to pull a final table off and a win would see the job done in no time.
Round up after session :
Staring balance: $330
Balance at start of session 2: $344.40
Tournaments played 3
Cashes 2
Closing balance: $327.90
I’ll take my $7.50 steps entry in to account on session 3, the WSOPE europe lol gonna need to sort myself out but it’s very early days!!
My Poker Challenge
March 20, 2009
Yesterday saw the start of my assault on H.O.R.S.E Tournaments with the ultimate goal of earning enough revenue from the tournaments alone for mt WSOPE entry of around $3500, I’ve started with just $330 in my stars account and want to build on it from there, wish me luck!!
So it was day 1 of my challenge and i decided to play my favorite which is the $4k Gtd with a buyin of $30+$3 and 120 runners, all was going to plan and i sat top 10 for ages, i lost a couple of big pots in Hold’em one was my fault the other just unlucky. As we approached the money (top 24 were paid) i was sitting 22nd and ended up finishing a marvelous 24th for $44 a huge $11 profit!!
Not excatly the start i was looking for but it could have been worse i suppose. I also entered the $10+$1 $1000 gtd a bit later on, this time 192 runners and top 32 were paid. I finished 27th in that one again for a monster pay day of $14.40 hmmm so a $3.40 profit, at this rate the WSOPE is a long way off :-).
So here’s a round up of session 1:
Starting balance $330
Tournaments Played 2
Cashes 2
Closing Balance $344.40
Fingers crossed for some slightly better results next time i sit down, which is now as i’m playing the $16.50 tournament with a $2000 gtd prize pool, maybe i’m saving myself for the bigger pay days, but at least i’m cashing 100% so far..lol
My Poker Stars Name is: macey1
